Disclaimer:
The following movie is rated: R
Believe me, there’s a good reason for that.
Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
This is out of character for me for a lot of reasons. Not least of which is the copious amounts of adult activity contained in this film’s runtime. Why did I bother covering it then? There’s still a lot to dissect in this movie (double entendre intended) regardless of its content. It was originally made to convey a specific message (and was nominated for 3 Oscars). Also, it starts with a ‘Q.’
In my quest to review films across the alphabet, it was difficult for me to find one starting with ‘Q.’ Thanks, Quills.
What was my first impression of this film?
…Damn…
But after that, how did I feel? Well…it’s complicated. I can undoubtedly say it had an impact on me, but I’m unsure if the original intent was properly portrayed. I’ve been reluctant to watch this movie again since my first viewing. Can you blame me? Although, how can I express my opinion unless I know what that opinion is? This is, after all, the life I’ve chosen. Also, we sometimes have to do uncomfortable things whether we want to or not.
This one was avoidable, but it builds character (so I’ve heard).
With that said, lets dive down to the depths of human sexuality in Quills.
